As is the case with most battle royale multiplayer games, Final Fantasy 7: The First Soldier comes fitted with a Season Pass. Because the game is free-to-play, the Season Pass is a way for players to earn additional cosmetic items for a low cost. In this guide, we’ll analyze everything you need to know about the Season Pass in Final Fantasy 7: The First Soldier.

Rise Of Shinra

Final Fantasy 7: The First Soldier is set 30 years before the events of the original game, Final Fantasy 7. Because the mobile game is essentially a prequel, it’s not a surprise that the first Season Pass is called Rise of Shinra. For a quick refresher, Shinra Electric Company is a massive organization that’s utilized the planet’s Mako energy to create Materia. The company is Avalanche’s main enemy in its quest to save the planet.

Based on the name of the Season Pass, the rewards included are heavy on the Shinra. Nearly every player, weapon, and vehicle skin is a reference to the Midgar company. Most cosmetic items in the Season Pass have been previously seen in the original Final Fantasy game, but there are other items from Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

How Long It Lasts

Most Season Passes in battle royale games typically last a few months, and Final Fantasy 7: The First Soldier is no different. Rise of Shinra will end on February 28, 2022, meaning the first season will last three months. Given the various daily and weekly challenges, plus the experience you receive just by playing the game, three months is plenty of time for you to unlock all 150 levels of the Season Pass.

If you don’t feel comfortable purchasing the Season Pass because you’re afraid you won’t unlock much of the content, it’s fine to wait. All the experience you earn will still unlock the tiers in the Season Pass, so whenever you do purchase the pass then you will immediately receive all the rewards you’ve earned up to that moment. In other words, you could theoretically play Final Fantasy 7: The First Soldier until February and purchase the pass right before it expires to claim all the goodies.

How Much Does It Cost

Similar to most games with microtransactions, Final Fantasy 7: The First Soldier uses a special in-game currency simply called Credits. There are two options to purchase the Season Pass: Season Pass and Elite Season Pass. The first option is the basic pass that starts you at the first level, or whichever level you’ve currently unlocked before purchasing. The regular Season Pass costs 1,000 Credits, which is equivalent to about $10.

The Elite Season Pass immediately unlocks the first 30 levels upon purchase. It’s unknown whether or not the Elite Season Pass is strictly the first 30 levels or if it’s 30 levels in general, but if we’d recommend erring on the side of caution and only purchasing the Elite Season Pass once you start playing. The Elite Season Pass costs 2,800 Credits, which is equivalent to about $28.

Final Fantasy 7: The First Soldier offers six different options to purchase Credits, so depending on which Season Pass option you’d opt for, Shinra Credit Set C and D will be the two likely selections. Set C costs $9.99 for 1,300 Credits and Set D costs $19.99 for 2,800 Credits.
